ABOUT ME

Duane Stinnett

 

I have over two decades experience as an Art Director, Animator, VFX Supervisor, and Narrative Designer at such companies as Blizzard Entertainment, Activision, Pixomondo, Trailer Park, and Blur Studio.

 

I have received a Chesley Award nomination from the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Illustrators, was nominated for an Annie Award for “Starcraft,” and won “Best Director of Animation, Interactive” at the World Animation Celebration in 1997.   My work on "Family Guy" was nominated for a VES Award, and I was a speaker at the 2000 3D Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I have written and directed two films: “The Curio Trunk,” a 35mm episodic horror/comedy starring Frank Gorshin (Batman, 12 Monkeys) and James Hong (Blade Runner, Big Trouble in Little China), as well as the feature film, “Last Rites,” which was screened at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival, and released through Universal Home Entertainment.

 

Total sales of games I have been Art and/or Cinematics Director on, exceed 37 million Units. 

 

Resume:

 

Collision Studios: April 2013 – Present

Studio Art Director – Created all Art, including models, animation, backgrounds, textures, lighting, environments, and UI, for prototype of World Fishing Champions, an Online Sports Simulation utilizing the Unity Engine.

 

Art Directed team for full production, hired artists, evaluated software, created pipeline, R&D'd technology and techniques. Oversaw internal title development for a variety of platforms, including IOS, Android, and PC. Interfaced with Clients, Contractors, and Outsourcing Vendors.

 

Ogmento Inc: October 2012-April 2013

Geobots – Lead Character Animator / Modeler – Modeled, Rigged, and Animated character for IOS Augmented Reality app.
 

Blur Studios: July 2013 – October 2013

Halo 4: Scanned – Scene Assembly / Compositor / Lighter – Comped, match-moved, roto'd and lit scenes for long-form Halo 4 trailer.

 

Hydrogen Whiskey Studios: October 2011-March 2012

Star Wars: Kinect – Lead Cinematics Lighter – Created in-engine lighting for Microsoft’s “Star Wars” kinect cinematics. Scripted and trouble-shooted pipeline, scheduled tasks, organized artists, interfaced with Producers and Art teams from both Microsoft and the game developer.

 

Trailer Park: December 2010-January 2011

Batman:  Arkham City Ad Campaign– Lighting and Design – Took existing assets and re-modeled, re-topologized, posed, lit, and rendered, for online, print and broadcast ad campaign.

 

Tiny Juggernaut VFX: January 2010 – December 2010
